BETA → VERSION 1.0 → LATER

Dependability before a longer feature list.

The public beta and first stable release are free and local-first. No account, mandatory template, AI analysis or productivity scoring is required. Dates follow readiness, not a promised deadline.

What must pass before version 1.0

  • No known unresolved data-loss, serious security or core-workflow blockers.
  • Backups restore prose, formatting, attachments, citations, links and revisions without replacing existing work.
  • Core editing, saving, reopening and exports pass the supported browser/device matrix.
  • Essential keyboard, screen-reader and small-screen workflows pass review; representative large manuscripts remain usable.
  • Two consecutive weekly release candidates pass regression checks without a newly reported critical regression.

These are release gates, not claims that testing is complete. Beta feedback prioritizes data safety and security, blocked workflows, usability, then enhancements.

After the stable release

First deepen calendars, continuity, research and revision based on writer feedback. Optional accounts and subscriptions need a separate commercial design; they will not silently enroll beta users or remove access to backup/export of existing writing.

Encrypted archives, installable offline startup, EPUB, sync and collaboration are possibilities, not commitments. Cloud storage requires a separate privacy and product decision.
