TaleSpyre Beta

PRIVACY · UPDATED OCTOBER 23, 2026

Your writing belongs with you.

Workspace data stays on your device

In this device-storage beta, manuscripts, planning records, sources, attachments, revision history, two recent automatic recovery copies, and optional backup-file access are stored in your browser. Local preferences and recovery drafts also use browser storage. Workspace autosave does not upload these records to a TaleSpyre project database or send them to an AI service.

Complete backups and manuscript exports are files you choose to save. They are not encrypted by TaleSpyre. Protect your device and any location where you copy these files. Someone with access to your browser profile or backup can read your writing.

Website connections

The application is delivered through Netlify. Serving the site involves normal connection information such as IP address, requested address, browser information, and request time, which the hosting provider may process in service and security logs under its policies. This is separate from your locally stored manuscript.

Opening external links, loading externally hosted images embedded in imported prose, or enabling externally hosted fonts can connect your browser to those providers. They may receive your connection information. Source URLs are entered manually and are not fetched automatically by research tools.

This beta does not add advertising trackers or analytics that monitor your writing. Local settings and backup permissions are used to make the workspace work. Browser extensions and your device’s own backup services are outside TaleSpyre’s control.

We count visits to our public pages with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies, doesn’t track you across sites, and is never loaded in the writing workspace.

Support is your choice

The feedback form builds a report locally. Optional browser details are included only when selected. Nothing is submitted automatically. The separate contact form sends only the name, email and message you type, when you press Send, through a small form handler that runs on Netlify for tobiasfletcher.com, the site of TaleSpyre’s developer, so we can reply and send you a short confirmation. Nothing from your workspace is included. If you send support email, we receive your email address, message, and any files you choose to attach through our email provider, Google/Gmail. We use those messages to respond, investigate problems, and improve the service. Do not send private manuscript material unless needed and you choose to share it.

Contact us to request deletion of a support conversation. We may need to retain limited records where required for security or legal obligations; copies may also remain temporarily in the email provider’s backups. Do not email passwords or payment information.

Your controls

You can download and restore complete backups, delete your local workspace by clearing this site’s browser storage, and delete exported files yourself. Make and check a backup before clearing site data. Deleted items in the app remain in local trash; a backup can still contain them. Clearing browser storage does not delete backups saved elsewhere or support messages you already sent.

No account, cloud sync, or subscription payment is required or enabled in this beta. If these features are introduced, their data handling will be described before use. We do not sell manuscript or support-message contents.
